
7/6/2008 - Seven members of the two-time defending Atlantic 10 champion Charlotte 49ers women's soccer team were voted preseason All-Atlantic 10. Junior goalkeeper Lauren Brown (Frenchtown, NJ/Delaware Valley Regional) and sophomores defender Whitney Bryant (Marietta, GA/Lassiter) and midfielder Sam Huecker (Crestwood, KY/Oldham County) were named to the preseason All-Atlantic 10 team. Four members of Charlotte's Atlantic 10 best recruiting class were named to the preseason Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team. Freshmen forward Oni Bernard (Toronto, Ontario/Agincourt Collegiate), midfielder Jonna Handra (Port Vue, PA/South Allegheny), midfielder Jenna McKeon (Bayside, NY/St. Francis Prep) and midfielder Macky Wingo (Raleigh, NC/Saint Mary's) were selected to the preseason A-10 All-Rookie team. 6/19/2008 - Charlotte soccer standout Lindsey Ozimek has been named the Atlantic 10 Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year in voting conducted among the Conference's fourteen directors of athletics. She is the second straight honoree from Charlotte, following Jane Daniels (Cross Country/Track) in 2007. Charlotte has had a Scholar-Athlete of the Year in all three years of Atlantic 10 membership (with Baseball's Mike Ambrose winning in 2006). Read Full Release
6/11/2008 - Charlotte 49ers women's soccer coach Jon Lipsitz announced the hiring of former Western Carolina standout Heather Dittmer as an assistant coach. Dittmer joins fourth-year assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Sari Rose on the 49ers women's soccer coaching staff. Read Full Release

02/08/2008 - The 12 commitments join a 49ers program which has won two A-10 regular season titles, an A-10 Tournament title to go along with an NCAA Tournament appearance over the past two seasons.
01/25/2008 - Ozimek was one of 24 players that participated in the United States National Team Training Camp, January 12-20
01/11/2008 - Ozimek was named to the second-team NSCAA/adidas Scholar All-American team
12/28/2007 - Whitney Bryant and Sam Huecker became the fourth and fifth different 49er to earn Soccer Buzz Freshmen All-American honors
