Dentamo Named Conference Performer of the Week

Adu Dentamo earns his first conference performer of the week honor, following a tremendous showing at Friday's Paul Short Invitational.

Oct. 6, 2008

Philadelphia – Following up on his ninth place finish at the Paul Short Invitational, Adu Dentamo has been named the Men’s Cross Country Performer of the Week by the Atlantic 10.

For the Queen City native, it marks the first time he’s been honored by the Atlantic 10 for a standout week on the course, but Dentamo has earned Rookie of the Week honors and All-Conference honors during his stellar 49er career.

Dentamo’s ninth place finish saw him cross the finish line in a time of 24:03 and was the top finisher from the participating A-10 schools, while the 49er men’s unit finished 17th overall out of 45 teams.

His time of 24:03 is a season best for the junior harrier who finished second at the Bojangle’s Invitational, which was the only other race he took part during the ’08 campaign.

Dentamo and the rest of the 49er Cross Country team will be back in action on October 17 and 18 when they travel to Appalachian State and then to the NCAA Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Indiana on consecutive days.
