Charlotte 49ers Athletic Media Relations Internship
Term/Salary: Aug. 1, 2008 - May 30, 2009; $1200 per month (without benefits) - The position has been filled for the 2008-09 school year
Supervisor - Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations
The Charlotte 49ers are seeking a highly-motivated, organized individual to serve an internship in the area of Athletic Media Relations for the 2008-09 academic year. A member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte) is located in a campus setting in northeast Charlotte. The university is a member of NCAA Division I and sponsors 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
The individual chosen will serve as the media contact for sports as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations and be responsible for all that entails, including publications, press releases, statistical updates, game coverage and maintenance of the athletic department website. In addition, this individual will participate in enhancing the 49ers audio/video content on the department website as well as other duties assigned by the Associate A.D. for Media Relations. An undergraduate degree is required, preferably in a related field. The selected individual will have strong writing and interpersonal skills, working knowledge of athletic sport programs, and an aptitude and willingness to learn desktop publishing and statcrew software. In addition, a background in broadcasting/communications is preferred. This position does require weekend and evening hours.

Athletic Marketing and Promotions Internship

The Charlotte 49ers are seeking a highly motivated, organized and outgoing individual to serve an internship in the areas of athletic marketing, promotions, and event management for the 2007-08 academic year. A member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte is located in a campus setting in northeast Charlotte. The university is a member of NCAA Division I, and sponsors 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
The individual chosen for this position will be assigned substantive responsibilities in the areas of athletic marketing, promotions, event management, outside sales of sponsorships and ticketing products and other duties as determined and assigned by the internship supervisor listed above. An undergraduate degree is required for this position, and a master's degree in sports/athletic administration or a related field is preferred.

The Charlotte 49ers are seeking a highly motivated, organized and outgoing individual to serve an internship in the area of athletic ticketing for the 2007-08 academic year. A member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte is located in a campus setting in northeast Charlotte. The university is a member of NCAA Division I, and sponsors 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
The individual chosen for this position will be assigned substantive responsibilities in the areas of athletic ticketing including extensive use of a computerized ticketing system, ticket reconciliation, customer service, outside sales of ticketing products and other duties as determined and assigned by the internship supervisor listed above. Additionally, some marketing and event management will be incorporated. An undergraduate degree is required for this position, and pursuance or completion of a master's degree in sports management/athletic administration or a related field is preferred.
